Our Commitment
At Langtons we are committed to responsible business. We believe we have a duty to create a positive impact in our community and to play our part towards creating a more sustainable future. This belief is closely aligned with our values as an organisation as we collaborate with our staff, clients and suppliers to take positive steps on the road to achieving net zero.
Steps We Have Taken
Although we have long recognised our role within the local community, during 2024 we have taken steps to start the process of reducing our environmental impact. First of all, we needed to measure our baseline emissions. To do this we have partnered with carbon management experts, Trace, to calculate our carbon emissions across Scope 1,2 and 3.
Next, we collaborated with Trace to formulate our plan for decarbonisation. We are now working towards reducing our emissions and have several initiatives in place to help us achieve that goal. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and achieving Net Zero and have set out a roadmap to achieve this.
Carbon Neutral
Following our carbon measurement we have opted to offset our emissions by investing in a carbon reduction and biodiversity project through Make It Wild, a biodiversity project in Yorkshire and the Peak District.
In order to offset our 2024 emissions and become Carbon Neutral, we have planted 50 trees in Rowan Tree Farm in the Peak District. We are excited that our Langtons trees will be helping to absorb carbon, produce oxygen as well as supporting insects, birds and small mammals for many decades to come.
