Audit and Accounts Senior
Due to continued growth, an opportunity exists for an experienced ‘all-round’ candidate to work within our accounts and audit department. This would suit a candidate looking to grow their career in a progressive mid-sized firm and develop strong relationships with clients by offering a proactive service.
You would be involved in a range of services including:
- Working with a team to deliver high quality audits
- Preparation of year-end accounts and Corporation Tax returns
- Supervising and training junior members of the team
- Other ad-hoc projects
You will work in the office, on client sites and from home on a diverse range of trading entities with turnover ranging from £200k to £30m.
You will be keen to get to know clients and how their businesses work, so that you can provide commercial and tax advice to add real value to their business. You would also gain knowledge by working with other specialist departments such as management information systems, tax and corporate finance.
You will:
- have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in practice
- have solid experience of accounts preparation and audit
- be ACA / ACCA / AAT qualified or part-qualified

Corporate Tax Manager
Reporting to the Specialist Tax Partner, you will be working with a diverse and genuinely exciting range of clients in a wide variety of sectors.
Your role will include:
- Building relationships with business owners from our diverse client base
- Reviewing and approving corporation tax computations
- Undertaking tax advisory work including R&D claims, capital allowances, restructures, exit planning and due diligence
- Proactively talking to clients about tax planning opportunities which may be relevant
- Collaborating with the wider team on corporate tax issues
- Development and mentoring of junior members of staff
You will:
- Be CTA qualified or finalist
- Have strong client relationship and teambuilding skills
- Have experience of working with a portfolio of clients to deliver on annual corporation tax reporting requirements
- Be able to demonstrate broad and strong technical tax knowledge and experience
- Be enthusiastic about continuous improvement
- Be motivated to strive to exceed expectations and provide excellent service to clients
- Be well organised and enjoy working with a variety of clients
- Experience and willingness to network and develop new business leads

Personal Tax Manager
An opportunity has arisen to become an integral part of our growing tax team providing tax compliance and valued advisory services to our Personal Tax clients.
You will provide support on tax planning and researching technical issues as well as liaising with clients for specific queries and ongoing support and advice.
You will work in the office and remotely, providing support to our tax partners and helping them grow our Personal Tax advisory services to our client base of HNWIs, directors of owner managed businesses and wider clients.
Role and responsibilities
- Preparation of personal tax returns including sole trader, partnerships and rental accounts
- Building and maintaining client relationships and advising on profit extraction planning, benefits in kind, coding notices, EMI schemes, capital gains tax computations
- Identifying opportunities for planning across the client base
- Working closely with the Corporation Tax and Accounts Managers within the practice and assisting with tax compliance and planning queries
- Liaising directly with HMRC
- Preparing CGT computations and 60 day returns
- Registering trusts using the Trust Registration Service
- Completion of P11ds on behalf of clients
- Attending courses that are appropriate to the job role and to ensure compliance with CPD
- Supporting the wider team in the development and overall management of the Tax Department
About the ideal candidate
Essential:
- Committed to a career in tax with relevant experience in a personal tax role
- Good communication and interpersonal skills and able to convey tax concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Able to plan your time, manage your workload and meet deadlines
- Good IT skills including MS Excel and Word
- Able to research and interpret tax legislation and solve problems
Desirable:
- ATT qualified, and either undertaking or looking to start CTA study
- Or ACA, ACCA qualified with an initial all round knowledge in accountancy having specialised in taxation later in your career
- A sound knowledge of all personal and business taxes and capital gains tax
- Strong general IT skills, be familiar with taxation software, and ideally cloud accounting software such as Xero
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Have an ethical, collaborative approach
- Experience with Digita software would be useful but not essential
- Knowledge of trusts and inheritance tax
